The Johnson Volunteer Fire Department has its primary responsibility to the citizens of the Town of Minisink, New York. The town is 23.1 square miles with a population of approximately 4,621(per the 2020 Census). The Town of Minisink borders the Towns of Greenville, Slate Hill, New Hampton, Pine Island, and Sussex County, New Jersey. The Johnson Volunteer Fire Department also responds to calls on a mutual aid basis to the Village of Unionville and its close neighbors in Orange County.
